"Your calling will take you as far as your body allows it"

I've always been a lover of food. Born in Honduras to Nicaraguan parents and living in Miami since I was 6 months old, I've always been exposed to food from different countries and cultures. My mom always told me: "de ahi no te levantas hasta que te comas toda la comida" aka you can't leave the table until you eat all your food. Being a picky eater wasn't going to fly in my household. And if you were sleeping over, you better believe the rule applied to you too. Don't believe me? Ask my cousins. They're grateful now because they also eat almost anything and everything.  But it wasn't until 2020 that I realized my body was no longer loving "everything" and I needed to be proactive about it...

I started experiencing terrible cramps while working out and since I had suffered from hormonal issues, I thought it was related to my ovaries. I went to a bunch of different doctors and long story short, I ended up with a Holistic Practitioner (omnewellness.com) that tested the minerals in my body through a hair test.  I needed to stop eating things that were making me sick and consuming the nutrients my body actually needed. Fixing the Dish had been put on hold for two years but my girl friends kept asking for it, so it was time to rebuild the food blog with the knowledge behind organic gardening and cooking while sharing about my journey with healing my gut and my hormones.
